How many people actually read their owner's manuals when they purchase a new electronic component? How many people still don't know how to program the remote control for their television? Manuals and training videos have limited educational value. Nothing can replace interaction with a highly skilled professional, expert in his particular field. For Coastcom, this is where our training program begins. Our technical trainers have over 50 years in the communications industry between them. Backed by our highly skilled technical support department, Coastcom has created a curriculum that focuses on typical customer issues as well as exploring the diversity of our product line and addressing specific customer questions regarding their unique applications. Covering our complete product offering, these classes are a must for telecom engineers and network managers.

Training Services

* Class size will not exceed ten students (five student minimum for customer premises training).
* Coastcom must be notified of cancellation or reschedule at least three weeks in advance of class.

5000-0012 R409/R428 Training: 28-Slot OC3/DS3 channel bank and 9-Slot wide-band IAD.  This course covers the R409 and R428 Series with an emphasis on functionality and feature cards. All classes are presented in a hands-on lab environment. Pre-requisites: Computer literate, basic T1 concepts.  Training at customer premises. 2-day program (16 hours). 10 students maximum / 5 students minimum.

5000-0040 Basic T1 Training: Introduction to T1 and Digital Network Design.  This class will bring you up to speed on the theory of T1 communications. Designed for administrative personnel who need a basic understanding of T1 transmission, the college student who would like to brush up on theory before taking an accredited course, or the technician who would like a review before proceeding with a Coastcom product hardware class. Prerequisites: Computer literate, basic telecommunication concepts. Training at customer premises. 1-day program (8 hours). 10 students maximum / 5 students minimum.
5000-0041 Basic T1 Training: Introduction to T1 and Digital Network Design. This class will bring you up to speed on the theory of T1 communications. Travel and Expenses will incude: Air Travel; Hotel: Marriott or equivalent hotel; Meals: based on actual cost; Shipping: actual cost of shipping of training equipment and materials; cost detail provided on request.

5000-0050 Advanced Troubleshooting training at Coastcom (list price shown is per student). 2-day program (16 hours). 10 students maximum / 5 students minimum. Offered only at Coastcom headquarters in California. Geared toward the professional technician, this course will cover hands-on troubleshooting techniques covering a wide range of applications. Guest speakers will include our own highly skilled troubleshooting technicians, front line technical support personnel and hardware engineers. Included in the class will be a tour of our manufacturing facility. Prerequisites: Computer literate, basic T1 concepts.
