Coastcom's Expanded Product Line Provides a Host of Bandwidth and Connectivity Options

ALAMEDA, Calif., Jan. 12, 2004 – Coastcom, a leading manufacturer of voice and data communications equipment for public and private networks, announced today it has expanded its product line, giving customers more connectivity and bandwidth choices. Coastcom's new “R” series family of network connection devices support an array of speeds and services – ranging from a single DS0 to OC-3 with Ethernet, frame relay, and ATM – giving service providers and enterprise users a variety of solutions to meet their current and future infrastructure requirements.

Meeting North American and international standards, the new products each feature a compact, flexible design, and an attractive price point. The new “R” family significantly enhances the Coastcom lineup, satisfying the most demanding mission-critical applications.

“This represents a dramatic, new direction for Coastcom,” said the company's President and CEO Ted Buttner. “Historically, we are recognized for our rugged and robust circuit-based products. Now we're applying our success to technologies such as packet switching, large-scale Ethernet transport, and mobile wireless opportunities. And we're expanding our service, technical support, and sales engineering efforts to a much wider audience, from utilities, government, and transportation to enterprises.”
