Coastcom Announces Fiber Optic Multiplexer Addition to R Series
Family of Network Solutions
ALAMEDA, Calif., November 30, 2004 - Coastcom, a leading manufacturer
of voice and data communications equipment for public and private
networks, announced today it has expanded its product line to
include the R930, Fiber Optic Multiplexer. The R930 Fiber Optic
Mux provides an ideal solution for building fiber-based T1/E1
networks. Multiplexes up to 16 T1/E1 signals, in groups of 4 T1s,
for transmission over optical fiber, resulting in a longer reach
without costly repeaters and superior performance in comparison
to copper media transport. Supports an optional 10 /100 BaseT
port and optional quad RS232 async ports to 64Kbps. Protection
levels can be designated as either single pair or dual pair fiber
with either a single power supply or dual supplies. Available
in a 1U high unit with RJ45 connections used for T1/E1. The 2U
high version has BNC connections for T1/E1, and the 3U high unit
has V.35 connections. Fiber span lengths to 100Km with 1:1 redundancy.
"We're really excited about this product," enthused
Randy Peterson, Coastcom's vice president of sales. "The
new R930 Fiber Optic Mux offers a very cost-effective and unique
solution for our customers to light up dark fiber and take advantage
of the investment already made in this infrastructure."
