Technical
Support Engineer II
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing technical support to external &
internal customers. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and de-bug access
telecommunications networks and associated equipment & software.
Supports Engineering in the testing of new product offerings.
Requires the ability to lead projects, solve complex problems,
and contribute to all operational aspects of the Company. Must
possess excellent customer-interface skills.
Position Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent combination of education, training,
and 5+ years experience in a closely related telecom industry.
- Knowledge of ATM, TDM, TCP/IP, SONET/SDH, VCAT, LCAS, GFP,
VoIP, CWDM, G.SHDSL, and xDSL specifications.
- Working knowledge of TDM, ATM and IP networks.
- Working Knowledge of Routers, ATM Switches, DSLAMs, DACCS,
ADMs, and TDMs.
- Knowledge of SNMP network management platforms.
- Knowledge of Ethernet specifications, Layer 1 - 4 switching,
ATM AAL1 - 5, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, as well as V.35, RS-232, RS-449.
RS-442 data interface operations and applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally,
across all levels of management.
- Proven ability to multitask between functions.
